Error on page - Mootools

I am receiving java errors on the page where TARR is active.  The errors are the following.

Error: ($(filter) || document).getElement is not a function
Source File: /local/js/mootools-release-1.11.js
Line: 3

AND

Error: el.set is not a function
Source File: /local/js/mootools-release-1.11.js
Line: 3

It looks as if the module is conflicting with my templates mootools.

It is.  We are trying to get it converted over off the $ namespace which will stop the conflict but it's slow going lately.
